Signature of an agreement on mutual recognition of diplomas with El Salvador

14/03/2018
On March 14th, CDEFI represented by M. Christian Lerminiaux signed a mutual recognition agreement of diplomas with El Salvador. This agreement was also signed by M. Jean-Luc Nahel from the Conference of University Presidents (CPU), M. Roger Armando Arias from El Salvador University, M. Mario Antonio Ruiz Ramirez from the Association of private universities of Salvador and in presence of M. David Izzo, Ambassador of France in El Salvador.

This agreement aims to promote student mobility between France and El Salvador and to strengthen academic and scientific cooperation. It joins the mutual recognition agreements recently signed with Costa Rica (2015) and Panama (2016).

The signature of this agreement took place in Antigua (Guatemala) on March 13th and 14th 2018 during the academic meeting France – Central America intended for Deans of higher education institutions and organized by IFAC (French Institute from Central America).

This event is in line with IFAC priorities and actions in terms of academic cooperation since 2016: scholarships programs, academic partnerships (double degree, diplomas recognition), institutional accreditations by the  HCERES (French Council of higher education and research evaluation) in the region, scientific conferences. This is why the objectives of this meeting were mainly to present the possible ways of implementing double degree programs and engineering courses, to boost scientific mobility and to draft proposals for academic programs assessment and institutional accreditation.
