Best wishes 2025!

02/01/2025
As 2025 begins, Emmanuel Duflos, the President of CDEFI, extends his warmest wishes to the entire Engineering Schools’ community. May this new year be market by excellence, serenity and success, both in the personal and professional projects of those involved in the world of engineering and higher education.

2024 was punctuated by many important collective actions taken to shape the future of engineering, higher education and research in France and beyond, by working with students and the European and international partners of French Engineering Schools. These actions include promoting scientific careers among young people, enhancing the value and recognition of the doctorate, establishing our European positioning and strengthening our influence in Brussels, as well as our ongoing commitment to research, innovation and the green transition in our institutions.

In 2025, CDEFI will continue to work with conviction to defend the interests of French Engineering Schools, to disseminate their culture of universality, and to promote their training and research for the benefit of their students, our partners, companies and society. This new year will undoubtedly see the continuation of many projects aimed at providing better support and guidance for young people as they build their higher education careers, in particular by combating social and gender stereotypes, increasing the autonomy of French Engineering Schools, improving the student experience, helping to meet the challenges of the ecological transition, diversity and inclusiveness, proposing solutions to the pressing expectations of the labour market in terms of skills, and so on.

2025 will see regular meetings with Engineering Schools, in particular:
  • monthly meetings of CDEFI Commissions,
  • the 2025 edition of Ingénieuses (launch on 20 January, followed by the awards ceremony on 15 May in Paris),
  • the annual Conference on internships and other professionalisation initiatives (with AVUF, France Universités, CGE, Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Research) on 28 January in Paris,
  • the Cpas1option seminar (with BNEI, BNEM and CGE) on 17 and 18 March in Angers,
  • the CDEFI annual Conference from 4 to 6 June in Brest.
The challenges ahead, be they budgetary, social, environmental, scientific, industrial or international, require greater attention and collective action. CDEFI would particularly like to thank the members of the Standing Committee, the chairs and vice-chairs of the Commissions and working groups, and the permanent staff for their selfless commitment over the year.

The President of CDEFI wishes the community all the best for 2025.
