Signature of an agreement on mutual recognition of diplomas between France and Panama

On September 26th 2016, M. Philippe Casenave, France Ambassador to Panama, M. José Barrios NG  from  the Council of Rectors of  Panama, M. Jean-Luc Nahel  from the Conference of University Presidents (CPU) and Romuald Boné  from the Conference of Deans of French Schools of Engineering (CDEFI) have signed an agreement on mutual recognition of diplomas between France and Panama. This new agreement aims to develop exchanges between both countries.

This agreement is intended to others agreement on mutual recognition of diplomas signed between France and  Costa Rica, Colombia, Argentina, Chile, Peru and Uruguay.  

The signature of this agreement took place during the first meeting of Deans of higher education institutions from France and Central America, organized by IFAC (Central America French Institute) on September 26 and 27th in San Jose, Costa Rica.

This event, which the main goal is to support academic cooperation between Universities and Higher education Institutions in France and Central America, has facilitated to meet all entities of higher education from Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama and Dominican Republic and a French delegation made of members of the French conferences CPU and CDEFI.

This event highlights a strong desire to strengthen partnerships and collaborations between Universities from Central America and France. In addition, a declaration of intent has been signed during this event, between the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development, the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research and the Ministry of Public Education of Costa Rica in order to develop common strategies for motilities and co-researches implementation.
